Maps & Networks. Step 2: Research + Testing

By 14:32 , ,

After couple of tutorials I finally got my solid idea. It was hard, but I got it and now I have time to concentrate on it. I have started from choosing the animals I will use as examples. And yes, wikipedia helped a lot:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_extinct_animals

So my final list is:

- Dodo bird. Madagascar, Africa. ~1662.

- Thylacine - Tasmania, Australia. 1936.

- Pyrenean Ibex - Spain, Europe. 2000.

- Steller's Sea Cow - Russia, Asia. 1768.

- Eastern Cougar - Canada and the USA, 2011.

- Glaucous Macaw - Brazil, South America. 1960s.

  1. First try

2. Box testing for the first model.

 Spray paint test went well.
Approximate plan of the box.

Spray paint for the box, as 6  boxes will be brown, 1 - black and 1- green.
I had to glue the whole box, so that it doesn't break in the end.
I bought as actual atlas that i will use for maps on the background, but that needs scanning and printing in our library.

Thing that need to be found and bought:
1) see through thread
2) light

There is and actual problem with the light, as no one has the LED strip that I am looking for. So I might end up changing the lighting plan.

Also, there are some new origami that i made. I came up with the fact that I will have to glue them all together. (Still can't paint the box because of the weather).
